A computer network is two or more communication media enabled devices that are linked to each other. This allows the devices to communicate with each other, it allows resources, data and information to be transferred/shared amongst these linked devices.

Define the following terms cloud computing, intranet, extranet and client server systems

Cloud computing is an internet based computing. Via the internet data can be stored, managed and processed on demand. Intranet is a private network that can only be accessed by the organization’s personnel. The organizations information and data is shared within the organization and its personnel but not available to the general public.

The extranet is a controlled private networks that securely shares information with vendors, customers and partners. It is an extension of the organizations intranet that can only be access if permission has been granted. The extranet is usually a private part of a website.

The client server system, is a software model consisting of two parts, one being the client system and the other the server system. Both these systems communicate over a computer network i.e. Web browser.

The internet is a worldwide network of computers, which supports communicating and sharing of data via numerous applications.
