If I can added one more example, which the time intervals between when a car would end up violating traffic rule. Going back on my discussion forum post, the traffic signal can take your violation pictures, which are, violate the rule so that interval between violation of a traffic surveillance can measure by the exponential random variable.

According to Yakir, B. (2011), “a binomial distribution is” where there are mainly two categories of data, either ‘success’ or ‘failure’. These two categories don’t mean that there would be only two value, it means that there can only be one value that you are looking to measure and the rest are all ‘failures’.
d) When would you use a binomial distribution?
Answer:
Binomial distribution can be used when we are looking to measure one specific thing in a collection of values that we care of, the only thing we are concerned with is that one ‘success’. For example, we can use binomial distribution to measure to amount of baskets one basketball player makes in a day of practice. The baskets he makes fair and squares are ‘successes’ and the baskets he shots but does not make are the
