The development team would have to verify whether or not the organisation would need to implement a server or not. It is important to determine if the server that is implemented is still needed and whether or not it would still meet the requirements set out at the start of the process.
Part of this verification would be to determine if the server updates are applied and whether or not more updates are needed. The verification would check whether or not the software licences is in place and if these licences are still valid. The software that is installed on the server would need to be verified to determine if it still supports the security updates and whether or not these software are still up to date.
When it is determined that the servers is no longer needed the development team would need to have a decommission plan in place. The System Decommission requires a strict adherence to mandate and regulations relating to contract termination, dispositioning of assets, the management of records, the transitioning of the remaining fiscal management details and the placement of the staff.
