Task 1 Did you know that providers need to fill out an average of 20,000 forms every year? Hospital policies and procedures will make that number increase year to year. Most providers completing these number of forms a year are doing them on paper. Completing assessments on paper increases the chances for mistakes and decreases the amount of time they are spending with the patient. Using Electronic Medical Records is the best way to decrease that number from 20,000 forms to 10,000 forms a year by consolidating what is required to be filled out electronically while allowing that provider to have more time to be with their patient’s. That means I traveled to different hospitals to help support the clinicians and providers use the system during the implementation. I was on the road Monday through Friday for that role for a whole year. My role within this company is a Behavioral Health Consultant. What that means is that I have several client’s that are assigned to me where I am the sole person in charge of building out the Behavioral Health tools. My responsibilities are to collect data for how the completion of documentation is currently being done, designing the future software, building the future product, and training the clinicians on how to use it. My job gives me much responsibility, which challenges me to complete my tasks on time along with being the best consultant to my clients I can be. What keeps me going every day is that there are consultants doing the same thing as me where we all have the same goal to increase the business while maintaining our current clients.
