There is growing demand for efficient emergency communication devices for people with medical emergencies, chronic diseases and disabilities*. The market for Medical Alert Systems is projected to grow at a rate of 6.31% from $14.98 billion in 2014 to reach $21.6 billion by 2020 [1].
Life2Watch is a wristwatch with a display, speaker, and buttons which are used during medical emergencies. There are two buttons: one for 911 calls, another which calls up to 4 relatives/friends. A person facing an emergency can press either button and speak through their watch, which connects to their cell phone or landline wirelessly. This product gives peace of mind for relatives and those who suffer from medical conditions.

Help call option: Numbers are called in the order that you store them when you setup the system. When a button is pressed, up to 4 contacts are called in the order specified by the user. If the first contact doesn’t respond, then the next is called and so on. This is an alternate option which gives the user flexibility depending on the situation. This can avoid the need for ER and ambulance costs.
Watch speaker: The watch has a speaker which allows 2 way communication during a call. This avoids the need to always be in close proximity to the cell phone and landline.
Medication reminder: The watch beeps at user specified times in order to remind the user to take his/her medication. These times are entered into the watch by the user.
Applicable outside house: Can be used both at home and outside, unlike many current options which require a base station, and are designed to be used only within the house.
