In 2013 I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Computer Networking and System Administration. During my four years at RIT, I studied the different networking protocols, proper network design, and how to configure actual enterprise routers, switches, and telephony gear. Since networks are used to connect computers together to share data, I also took classes in server administration where we learned about configuring many different services such as email, web, authentication, file sharing, etc. Besides learning how the protocols and services work and how to configure them, the classes also covered ways to incorporate resiliency and disaster recovery into the network and server topologies. The classroom knowledge I gained at RIT was reinforced by my CO-OP experiences at RailComm and J.P. Morgan Chase.

Morgan Chase. We are responsible for developing and supporting automation rules and processes with a goal of lowering the amount of manual work. This position utilizes my infrastructure background from college since we interact with all aspects of the mainframe but I also develop scripts, applications, and web applications. One of my responsibilities is to maintain and develop improvements to a PHP dashboard used to display health checks and metrics on the entire mainframe environment. When I first took over the responsibility I wasn’t too familiar with web development so I used online courses to obtain the necessary background knowledge..
