The task team for First World Bank Savings and Loan has some concerns about the support and software management of the organizations Linux-based infrastructure. I will be recommending a software management plan while keeping in mind the various servers and the cost. With that being said, the recommendation for a software management plan is to use RPM. RPM is a program that is made for installing, uninstalling, and for managing software packages for Linux. This only works with packages that are built for processing by the rpm package and also RPM makes system updates easy for the end user. Whether you are installing, uninstalling, or upgrading, the rpm packages can be accomplished with short commands. Another good thing about rpm is that it has a database of all of the installed packages and their files so that you may invoke queries and verifications on your system. Some major reasons to install Anti-virus software on your Linux system is to prevent hackers from gaining access to your network and how to prevent rootkit attacks. Rootkits are a type of malware that hides the presence of certain programs or processes from the kernel. Rootkits are also used to gain root access and obtain confidential information (Keys, 2015). I would definitely install some type of anti-virus software so that the Linux system is protected.
