(2011) links understaffing, heavier workloads and un-favorable working conditions to poor job satisfaction and burnout. This causes poor patient care and outcomes for both the client and the nurses. In an article of the International Journal of Nursing Practices, it states that due to short staffing, nurses who stay intent on trying to give quality care to all clients’ experience burnout.
