Ever since I was a young child, I loved to dress up as a doctor. As I started growing up, I thought that the dream of me being a doctor was far. I was so young and I was always told it’s to challenging to work in the medical field and that no young child knows what they want. Ever since I was born, my grandfather has suffered from various types of cancers. On top of that, I have had family members with cancer and sicknesses that are fatal. This really opened my eyes and kept me awake for countless nights thinking about what I could do to make them feel better. I was distraught and overwhelmed but I had to be strong for my family. I absolutely love the nursing program and plan to advance my skills and become a Nurse Practitioner. By the end of this school year I will be a certified Geriatrics Nursing Assistance and a certified Nursing Assistant. I feel that working with patients and having the ability to help and care for someone completes me and makes me feel very content. Learning how to be a nurse and saving lives is very important to me. Being a nurse takes a lot of hard work. You have to be responsible, caring, compassionate, intelligent, and have many characteristics that I believe I have. It would be such an honor working everyday to make at least one persons life a bit less painful. To at least save one person’s life, so they can strive and live the way that they want with the ones they love. I have a long road ahead, and it will be difficult, but I believe this is what I am here for. I was meant to do this and I’m determined to do anything it takes to pursue my goal. Nurses are like a heartbeat; every heartbeat is crucially
