In 21st century American Society, OJ Simpson can be considered a tragic hero because he is a character of high status, embodies a tragic flaw, and goes through profound suffering. As a young man Simpson took an opportunity to play for USC as a starting running back. Leading to him winning the 1968 Heisman Trophy. At age 23, Simpson became a Buffalo Bills running back. Being drafted as a first pick he was meant for greatness. Throughout his 10 year NFL career Simpson accumulated 6 Pro Bowl appearances, 5x All Pro, 4x NFL Rushing Champion, and finally a 1984 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction.
