What was the goal of the Ohio Company? Started by Lawrence and Augustine Washington the Ohio company goal was to secure wilderness tracts to be resold later on the exploding Anglo- American population seeking fresh land.
What was George Washington’s first (and quite delicate) assignment? He was sent by Robert Dinwiddie as a messenger in 1753 to warn the French that they were trespassing on Virginia land.
What did the French and Indians do to Fort Necessity? During the French and Indian war at Fort Necessity the French and Indians injured and killed a third of George Washington’s men.
How did the Iroquois feel about the French military presence around the Great Lakes? They figured that the French military presence would serve as a deterrent against the colonist westward expansion therefore benefitting them.
Who turned the Seven Year’s War around in favor of the British? The man that turned the Seven Years’ war in the British favor was William Pitt simply because he treated his men as allies’ not just subordinates.

How did Indians feel about gifts? To Indians gifts cemented social relationships, symbolizing honor and establishing obligation.

The proclamation of 1763 forbade colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains, ensured that the Indians land would be respected, limited trade with the Indians, and was worded carefully to say that it was reserved for Indians as their hunting grounds but never said that it belonged to them.

The Sons of Liberty in 1765 orchestrated a peaceful protest that worked. What was learned from this demonstration was that stamp distributors were unpopular, Governor Bernard learned that without the police his power is limited, the demonstration leaders learned that street actions was effective, hundreds of men learned what the Stamp Act was and was proud they could influence their government in a major way.
