Obesity in America
Obesity is a problem because it is a big health risk and the effects are deadly. There are negative effects and health risks for adults and children with obesity. Over 40 percent of adults and children are affected by bad eating habits (“title”). Changing habits of the youth is one way to overcome obesity in America. Educating people about physical fitness will help reduced obesity. Obesity in America needs to be cured because it cause major health risks, it cost America money, and it is affecting today’s youth.
The definition of obesity is when someone has an unusually high and very unhealthy amount of body fat which, in many cases, if not treated can cause diseases and death. Dieting and physical exercise are the mainstays of treatment for obesity. ☆Diet quality can be improved by reducing the consumption of energy-dense foods such as those high in fat and sugars, and by increasing the intake of dietary fiber. Anti-obesity drugs may be taken to reduce appetite or inhibit fat absorption together with a suitable diet. If diet, exercise and medication are not effective, a gastric balloon may assist with weight loss, or surgery may be performed to reduce stomach volume and/or bowel length, leading to earlier satiation and reduced ability to absorb nutrients from food. ★
The type of cancer that deals with obesity are esophagus, pancreas, colon and rectum, breast, and many others. Recent research in the United States alone show 4 percent of men and 7 percent of females having cancer stemmed from being overweight. By the year of 2030 there will be 500,000 cases of cancer in the United States.
