Objective Lavatory Testing

I do believe that the standardized, objective lavatory test can be valid and reliable indicators when looking at normal age-related decrements in cognitive performance. While standardized test are never the best ways to measure human performance, it is the best way we have to measure cognitive deterioration. If we are consistently seeing results that prove that there are decrements in cognitive function are related to aging then I believe we can trust the research because they all come to the same conclusion. I do believe that there are some issues when asking people to self-report their cognitive performance. While I can potentially see this may have some benefits for elderly people I do not really see them making a significant impact on someone’s cognition as they age. If people do these test everyday they are going to get better at them because they are practicing doing these test everyday. I do not know if they would really make a significant impact on our mental health, as we get older. I do think that these test would be just as effective for all normal elderly people including the oldest old, they would still be able to do the exercises just as anyone else would. I do not believe that an individual’s formal education would have any effect on the effectiveness of these programs. They do not really test anything that would be more suited to someone with more formal education. As I do not believe that these tests will help people as they age I do not believe that they are cost effective. I believe that it is in the best interest of the businesses to report that these tests will help you keep you mental health as you age even though there is hardly a consensus from the scientific
