The Stanford Marshmallow study shows how kids, who later become adults, manage impulse control and delayed gratification. The kids who did not eat the marshmallow received a second one. They grew up to eventually be able to handle stress well, and be more efficient in college. Their SAT scores were higher. The kids who did eat the first marshmallow did not receive a second one. These kids grew up to become overwhelmed by stress, and were less efficient in college. Their SAT scores were lower. This study is important to reflect on as a student because it proves that if you control your impulses, you will do better in college and the work force. This is because you will be able to manage stress and be more academically competent. You will be
