Tommy Newberry once said, “Obstacles are the raw materials of great accomplishments.” This statement is true to my life. Even being at the mere age of 19 going on 20, I have learned and overcame so much. I have made accomplishments and I have made mistakes, but I know that what my future holds is more than what I could have ever planned myself. In my eyes life is about learning from mistakes and always improving oneself. This is a goal I push towards every day. My greatest accomplishments come from my biggest failures. When I was a freshman in high school I was extremely infatuated with a senior boy who I believed to be quiet honestly the greatest human being alive. However, I never examined his heart. Some may say that this isn’t important in a high school relationship, but for this one it was. I let my guard down and let black and white become gray. Minute by minute my life was transforming into lyrics of a tragic song by Casting Crowns. “It's a slow fade when black and white are turned to gray and thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid. I became closer to the one that gives me life and gives me happiness, my savior Jesus Christ. I had self-respect and I had confidence. While still being human being I made errors. However, I knew and still know that Jesus loves me, and he is what gives me life and a light to be joyful. Now, that I have gone through that struggle I have been able to accomplish so many adventures that have come my way. Overall, my greatest accomplishment was being able to share the Word in Haiti to my brothers and sisters in Christ.
