For thousands of years, Venice Italy has been known as the city of water but because of global warming the water has risen and has become a big problem. As the temperature of the climate has increased, sea level has risen. The tides rise up to two times a day but the tides have been increasing and causing floods. Homes, buildings, and land are being destroyed by floods.

Good morning class, I am Melissa Aguirre and I am here today to talk about greenhouse effect. We are already experience the effects of climate change. From temperature rising, sea levels rising, snow and rainfall patterns drifting, etc. We need to take action to reduce the emissions of the greenhouse gases pollution that warm our planet, we can reduce the risk of future climate

As we keep increasing CO2 we are changing and evolving the ocean in a negative manner. An estimated 30-40% of the carbon dioxide from human activity released into the atmosphere dissolves into oceans, rivers and lakes. Most of the carbon dioxide that is released does not stay in the air but is absorbed in the ocean. The ocean requires a particular level of pH to maintain the natural biochemical needed to allow a healthy ecosystem but when ocean absorb a high level of carbon dioxide, the acidity levels rise and the natural order of the ocean becomes compromised. Ocean acidification is causing many parts of the ocean to becomes undersaturated with calcium carbonate minerals. The lack of these minerals is reducing the ability of some organisms to produce and maintain their shells. If steps are not taken to reduce carbon dioxide levels in the ocean and business goes on as usual, the ocean can expect to have the highest pH levels in more than 20 million years. With the ocean being poisoned by high levels of carbon dioxide, the marine life have not had a chance to adapt to the new levels of acid in their habitat. We need to stop acidification because it is causing coral reefs to dissolve. This will affect the marine animals because the reef is home to many marine animals but without the reefs the organisms will no longer have a
