The site tells us that development and population rise with Ocean County has to do with the fact that Ocean County has developed as a tourist location that was very popular. People from different reasons come to Ocean County to enjoy waterfront activities, which are provided to us by the Barnegat Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

To try and offset this a bit Ocean County has been preserving State Parks and National And Forest Wildlife Areas. Ocean County has started to develop programs that preserve acres of land as well as protecting farms.

The mission of the Ocean County Soil Conservation District is that they provide leadership in the planning and using of natural resource programs for the development of our communities and our agricultural development through a delivery system that is locally based with local, federal, and state partners.

The Soil Health Improvement Project (SHIP) has the goal of developing low cost and soil restoration techniques that can easily be moved to a landscaper of a homeowner in the Ocean County area. The partners of the Soil Health Improvement Project (SHIP) are looking to identity the chemical, physical, and the biological properties of the sandy soils that are found in Ocean County.

It affects regulating water, it affects plant and animal life as well because in order for plants and animals to survive they need healthy soil.
