Odysseus is the main character in the book, The Odyssey by Homer; an old adventure taking place after the Trojan War. The main premise of the story of the Odyssey is that after the end of the Trojan War, a war hero named Odysseus is trying to make his way home. However it seems that everything is against him trying to return home to his family. From seductresses to witches and sea monsters, Odysseus encounters many dangerous evil beings on his journey home: similar to the Christian walk through sin. All while he is trying to return home, his beautiful bride Penelope who with Odysseus away is being harassed by many male suitors who want to take her from Odysseus. However Odysseus has more than just a wife, he has a son named Telemachus, who goes on his own adventure to search for his adrift father. Although absent from home Odysseus still remains a tenacious leader, a persistent father, and a perpetually loving husband. …show more content…
