To the Greek, people who experience strength, weakness, and conflicts are heroic.Odysseus, a man who went on a ten year voyage experienced all three of these, therefore giving him the title of a hero.

Odysseus displayed very many strengths; such as fighting bravely in the military war, this showed his intelligence and cunning attitude. Not only did he fight daringly in the war, but he also prepared his men with “distinct precaution”. Although Odysseus had numerous strengths; he also struggled with weaknesses. These traits demonstrate his strength.

Vulnerable to the temptation of women, Odysseus makes a bad choice and is tempted by the sirens. Circe says “If you must be tempted” which indicates that he had options. Odysseus knew that the Sirens
