Odyssey Hero's Journey Analysis

The Hero’s Journey is the main character’s path that is described, variously, but in general, it includes the main character’s journey in the book. The Odyssey is about Odysseus who went on hero’s journey and he has still not returned. While he was away he was put through tests but everyone at home didn,t know he was alive. The hero's journey has many steps and the first one was the call to adventure which is when the character get called away. The Odyssey it starts ten years after the Trojan War when everyone has came back home except Odysseus and his crew. But we are going to travel back in time to when the Trojan War had not happened yet. When they heard there was going to be a war against the Greeks, the Greek heroes set out to fight. So Odysseus must travel to Troy and help the armies in battle. At first Odysseus didn't want to go, he didn't want to leave his family. His son Telemachus had just been born and he didn't want to leave his wife to take care of him all alone. The supernatural aid is when a supernatural character helps the main character. She helps him many times in the book and some stand out more than others. A lot of the gods help out during the Trojan War, the Greeks became very prideful and because of that the gods led Odysseus astray for ten years. Athena, who was Odysseus strongest supporter eventually took pity on him so she convinced the other gods to help him escape from Calypso's island to freedom. Mostly all of the gods helped him but one of the ones who never really did was Poseidon. Next we move on to the crossing of the first threshold which began with the trojan war. Odysseus has not truly began his journey to change, but he is being introduced to a world that is not his own. He has never really left his home and now he has
