In “Of Human Carnage” by Richard M. Lange he talks about humans suicidal thoughts and actions and PTSD. A sentence that caught my attention and made me think deep and hard about it is “He didn’t hang himself or take pills or slit his wrists, methods that would leave his body more or less intact. Instead, he put himself in front of a moving truck, ensuring his body would be brutally crushed. This carried a message of self-hatred. Even more revealing: he made someone else kill him. He caused an innocent person to experience the pain and trauma of destroying another human being—in one of the most gruesome ways imaginable” (158). To me, this quote stood out because it is something to think about. If you commit suicide by jumping in front of a moving car, not only are you hurting yourself but you are affecting the driver as well. The driver may began to think it is their fault and blame themselves. This quote is shouting out selfishness. Even though this quote is talking about jumping in front of a car you can use it to talk about wide variety of topics such as, Having a child that you financially cannot take care of, working with someone on a particular task and you just wait to get the end result, or even bullying …show more content…
Do you have the money and time? People go into the world just being sexuality active without thinking of the outcome. Once one gets pregnant they do not know what to do. They either get an abortion or make someone of their family basically take care of the child. When you get an abortion, You have to go to the clinic and make someone else kill your child. This relates to selfishness. You make an innocent human being kill another innocent human being because of your stupid decisions. Strangely enough, not only do we become selfish by making someone else do our dirty work, we make people do particular tasks so we can get the end
