Have you ever had a “bestfriend” that you look back see how they really weren't, well in the novella Of Mice of Men by John Steinbeck, two characters travel farm to farm working and Steinbeck tries to display their “friendship”. In my opinion George wasn’t a good friend, I think George took advantage of Lennie. George always made fun of Lennie and played pranks on him. And at the end of the story George ends up killing lennie, now I ask you would you kill your so called “bestfriend”.

George is a bad friend because he always makes fun of Lennie and puts him down. For example George always calls Lennie a “crazy bastard”. And George always tells Lennie how he would be better off without him, and how good of a life he could have if Lennie wasn’t there. Also, George told Lennie that if they were related he would shoot himself. When George and Lennie arrive at the farm Lennie accidently talks to the boss and George starts to yell at Lennie for talking to him. George would always talk bad behind Lennie’s back and calls him stupid. And George calls Lennie a nuisance because he was bothering him.

Also back in Weed, Lennie, not knowing any better, grabbed onto a red dress, George having complete control over Lennie could have told him to let go, instead he hit him in the back of the head with a fence post.
