In Things Fall Apart it is a pretty big mess in Okonkwo’s life, Okonkwo lives in fear his whole life of becoming his father Unoka. Unoka is a very lazy and cowardly person, that is mostly why he does not want to become his father. Okonkwo in the beginning is a very successful, hard working farmer. He has three wives, Ekwefi, Ojiugo, and another but she is un-named. Ikemefuna, Okonkwo’s adopted son was murdered by Okonkwo himself and the igbo tribe. At the funeral, Okonkwo accidentally shot a little boy, he was then proven guilty. After the seven years in prison Okonkwo came out and realized that the white christians had taken over his country, he did not like that at all so he burnt down their church in return. After all the roughless battles he decides to hang himself. Thats where the claim comes in. White Man’s Burden, the white man sends his best men off to steal back his old reward he once lost from the blacks. The blacks were not very happy about them lying just to steal back what was once theirs.
