The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano written by Olaudah Equiano himself. The narrative was written to give an autobiography on Equiano life during the 1700’s. Equiano gave his life story about being an European and as a slave. Equiano view on his life have change rapidly throughout many life changing events.
Firstly, Equiano first priority that has changed his point of view was the European interaction in his village. Equiano once considered himself as a European. Equiano father was a elder and or chief who controls the Embrenche. There were marriage ceremony, mode of living, dress, commerce, war and religion and many more. Where Equiano was from there was many rules and regulations. People who commits adultery were sentenced to death without any hesitations. Equiano had made his point about his country’s manner. It has a certain effect on how he is as an individual.
Secondly, Equiano second that changed his view on race when he was kidnapped as a child and raised to be an indentured servant. Back when Equiano was younger his sister and him went to look out for kidnappers but the kidnapper grab them before they even got a chance to scream. Equiano once viewed himself as a European based on where he was from. Until one day, he was kidnapped along with his sister based on their race. As Equiano got much older he offered to be an indentured servant to help his masters until he left his master he began to search for a place to convert to the religion of Christianity. Through all these experiences Equiano has been through he still manages to see why things tends to happen the way it is.
