Lawrence Durrell once said, “ No one can be a rebel for too long without turning into a dictator.” Omar al-bashir was born on January,1 1944 in Hoshe Bannaga, Sudan. Bashir, was an Sudanese military officer who led a revolt that overthrew the elected government of Sudan. He fought in the First Sudanese Civil war, The Yom Kippur war, and The Second Sudanese Civil war. He is currently the President of Sudan and Head of the National Congress Party. He is also considered to be one of the world's worst dictators because he terrorized and killed many people just to get and do whatever he wanted to. Omar al-Bashir was frustrated with the leadership in Sudan and that's when he decided to run for President. He came to power after he led a successful military coup in 1989. When he seized power, Sudan was in a midst of a 21 year Civil War between North and South. He became chairman of the Revolutionary Command Council for National Salvation, which ruled the country. But according to an article this would never happen, not even by force, due to the fact that Sudan always has been and always will be a multi-ethnic, multi-religious state.
