Different individuals enjoy working out in unalike ways. Some people prefer a strict cardio workout routine while others are all about strength training; there are also people who are more focused on perfecting their balance and others who want to increase their flexibility skills. Whatever the reason someone is exercising for, it is crucial to perform in order to keep the body healthy. Exercise can be divided into four separate categories. These categories include endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility workouts. What many people do not realize is that exercising is more complex than it seems; certain exercises target and benefit different parts of the body, and bring whoever is working out closer to the goal they want to achieve. Running benefits almost all parts of the human body, thus making whoever performing this exercise healthier. Some effects of running include improvement of health, prevention of diseases, loss of weight, boosts in confidence, and relief of stress. Running is one way to increase the overall health of one’s body. Active.com states, “Research shows that running can raise…levels of good cholesterol while also helping increase lung function and use … running can also boost … [the] immune system and lower … [the] risk of developing blood clots” (Cattanach par. 2). Cattanach goes on to state that, “… running can actually help to lower … [the] risk of breast cancer … [and] also help reduce the risk of having a stroke” (par.3). In continuation, running is one of the best forms of exercise to help one lose or maintain their weight, a way to burn off extra calories. Two other benefits of running that are not physical include boosts in confidence and relief of stress. Benefits from performing tai chi include improvements in bone and heart health, better sleep, and improvements in balance.
