Oppenheimer's Argument In Favor Of The Atomic Bomb

Today is the day where I have accepted my fault in society and apologize for all the trouble I have brought upon this world. You are probably aware of who I am. Julius Robert Oppenheimer; American theoretical physicist, best known as the father of the atomic bomb. I guess you can say that I got a little carried away during the Manhattan Project and didn't fully comprehend the damages my work brought to America. In my defense, I believed that what I was creating at the time was something to protect our nation and keep American pride strong and faithful. Little did I know what this abomination could do when in the wrong hands.

This is just a link in the chain involving conflict with atomic bombs that leads up to the 21st century. This isn't America's first threat and probably not our last. If this gets out of control then the world will be in ruins with a nuclear war at hand. This ironically goes against my whole purpose of my part in creating the atomic bomb and I sincerely apologize. I had initially created the atomic bomb for America’s safety and benefit during World War 2 (Rouzé). We didn't believe that we would win the war without these atomic bombs and we knew of the environmental and societal damage they would create (Oppenheimer). Everyone was caught up in a race to make armed weapons to use against Nazi Germany and finally put an end to a war. What came after is what we expected but ignored to take responsibility for. If I can’t forgive myself then I can't ask for forgiveness. For this reason I do apologize for creating the atomic bomb. Yes I have caused war tensions and conflict, but my technology has also jumpstarted different advancements in science. I chose to look at all the good my work has done in my time of being a physicist. I hope that those who know about me learn from my work and use it for a better purpose to right my
