The inauguration represents the strength of our democracy and portrays that there can be a peaceful transfer of power. In the video “No Ordinary Field Trip at Inauguration” edited by CBS News, Steve Hartman converses with the students who were given the rare chance to witness the inauguration. Hartman extracts information that leads to an important civic realization.
Not many schools can say they were granted the opportunity to experience a field trip to the president’s inauguration. On the contrary, they would be listening to a man who vows to make changes that could very well send their parents and loved ones packing. Despite this, the students went on their own accord and therefore are responsible for their emotion and reactions to this event. Although the situation was quite contradictory, the educational reasoning of the trip cannot be denied. The fear and desperation from the parents to keep their children from going is understandable. To them, they are sending their children to the top wolf with no protection what so ever, but from a student’s point of view, they know that despite the situation, this once in a lifetime experience was worth it.

We fail to include ourselves in the statement “All Voices Matter” due to an age gap. The truth is, anyone who is capable of understanding what is going on around them can partake in the civil disagreement of it. I suggest that the students in Immokalee, Florida take charge and make their voices heard. It is not a crime to disagree with the government. The first amendment grants us with the freedom of speech and that should be utilized to the fullest, in the most civil way possible. With that being said every media resource should be exploited to ensure that the dilemma they are facing is not
