Organic Foods In my opinion , consumers should buy organic foods. Non-organic foods harm the environment , your health, and could end up costing you money in the long run. By eating non-organic food, you are consuming harmful chemicals every day. This could end up harming your health, therefore costing you money. Using pesticides can also harm the environment. Thankfully, there is a way to prevent this from happening – buying organic foods. Organic foods can greatly help the environment. With the environment in poor condition buying organic foods is more environmentally friendly then conventional, or non-organic foods, this is because instead of weed killers, organic foods use mulch or manure to kill weeds. This way, harmful pesticides won’t seep into the soil and contaminate drinking water and other water sources. Also, in a non-organic farming environments and livestock are threatened. With organic farming, livestock are most likely treated better and are not fed artificial growth hormones that can effect the livestock health. Furthermore, organic farming practices are designed to encourage soil, water conservation, and reduce pollution. Also if pesticides get disposed of incorrectly , they can poison soil and drinking water. It is critical that they get disposed of correctly because because many poisonous pesticides don’t even break down in water. Organic foods can clearly make a difference in the environment.
