Leadership, communication, motivation, power, and commitment play a fundamental part in the growth and development of organizations. When changes occur, organizations must first establish a culture focusing on each role. Establishing an organization based on these components allows the organization to adjust and grow as changes occur. Starbucks is an organization that has been successful at this since first opening their doors and by possessing superior leaders, successful strategies, extraordinary motivation and a highly committed and motivated staff. “A strong leader is often one who has the ability to clearly communicate the vision for the company and who helps employees see how their work connects to the big picture,” (Robert Hohman, 2014).

Leadership within any organization affects the attitudes of the individuals involved. There are a number of different styles of leadership, and each has different ways of motivating employees. Charismatic leaders influence groups by establishing themselves as being different from ordinary people. In turn, they are viewed as being someone who is superhuman and possesses special powers. The charismatic leader is someone who is very appealing to his or her followers. Transformational leaders tend to their followers by focusing his or her attention on their concerns and needs. The leader does whatever is necessary to address their concerns and to benefit the organization. Transformational leaders reward for good performance and recognizes their accomplishments. Authentic leaders openly and candidly act on their values and beliefs. They are very ethical leaders therefore they gain the trust of their followers.
A number of factors can affect communication and organization within the group. Leadership style is no exception. Motivational theories such as these may be effective within an organizations culture. Commitment to the organization by the workforce is a key factor in organizational communication. It is imperative to recognize how each factor will affect organizational and group communication to ensure effectiveness within the organization. Successful leadership style depends on information given. Concerns are better managed by someone with a Transformational leadership style. Transformational leaders possess several different approaches and capabilities that create individual advantages benefiting the organization. Leaders that use this approach set good examples, has integrity, and clearly communicates to his or her followers. They expect nothing less than best. These leaders inspire their followers to focus on the needs and interest of the team rather than their own. He or she provides work that stimulates and recognizes exceptional work. None the less, Starbucks must credit its success to its exceptional leaders and employees who demonstrates the highest level of communication with not only each other but its customers as well.
CEO Starbucks, Howard Schultz has been recognized recently for his charismatic style of leadership. Charismatic leaders have a tendency to be more successful in his or her leadership style since they inspire a lot of passion in their followers and are very energetic in motivating others to move forward. Having a Charismatic style of Leadership has enabled CEO Howard Schultz and Starbucks to become one of the leading coffee houses by displaying excellent commitment to communicating with employees and creating an honest and rewarding relationship. Transformational leadership style is similar in many to that of the charismatic leadership style.
