With the help of human creation, work, and effort, technology is getting more advanced than ever before. However, everything comes with a good side as well as bad side, including technology. In the book Oryx and Crake, Margaret Atwood explores the idea of advanced science without ethics which is the central issue. In today's society, scientists are using the Genetic Modified Organisms (GMOs) to create more stronger and nutritious food. I believe that scientist should not use this artificial technique because this would be changing the creation of God and it would be like playing a God. There are also positive as well as negative outcomes of GMOs from which we should be aware. Positives about the GMOs are the it is larger, hardier, tastier and highly quality crops. Organisms can posses derived traits which they cannot have naturally. It also allow for the production and sale of more valuable and modified organisms which would be essentially resistant to disease and predators.
Negatives about the GMOs would be that organisms are more genetically similar and less diversity in population. GMOs can have negative consequences which can harm the surroundings of a society. In order to have healthy and good outcome of GMOs, it requires more care such as more water, food and land. One of the main consequences of GMOs would be altering the creation of God and interfering with God. it would be going against God and "playing God."
