On September 11, 2001 there was an attack on American soil. The worst attack on American soil since the bombing of pearl harbor on December 7, 1941. Two jumbo jets were hijacked by terrorists from the group Al-qaeda, based out of the middle east. This terrorist group was lead by a man named Osama bin Laden. He started this group out of the Islamic religion, though he did not feel it was just a religion, but a political party as well. After the attacks on 9/11, he evaded capture in war in December of 2001. After evading capture, he went into hiding. His location was unclear, his health was also unclear as well. On the day of the 9/11 attacks, he was at a terrorist training camp. He left during that night with al-qaeda and taliban operatives after they sent his wives and children to Pakistan to hideout. The next morning he arrived in a Taliban run safe house until 2007.
In 2007, after the American-led war started in Afghanistan, bin Laden bailed from his first safe house, to another Taliban safe house. He jumped safe houses a lot to keep from getting caught by CIA satellites. His thought process was if he stayed in one place too long, he was bound to get caught. So he kept moving to places he knew was safe, but only stayed in those areas for short periods of time. A couple month in a safe house was too long for Osama bin Laden.
Sometime in January of 2002, it is believed that bin Laden crossed over into Pakistan and stayed in multiple al-Qaeda safehouses between the time of his arrival in January of 2002, until April of 2002. During these times of moving around and hiding. He was never in the area of his many wives and children.
