Introduction
In the autobiography “The Diary of Anne Frank”, which Anne’s dad Otto Frank published and edited. Anne’s autobiography was published in 1991; her diary “The Diary of Anne Frank” has 341 pages. In this autobiography it tells the readers about what she has been through and how she lived daily trying to hide from Nazis. While I was reading I found a lot of information I did not get the answers to until I kept reading for example, who is autobiography is about? Who wrote it? What part of the author’s life does the autobiography describe? What important event or experiences does the author write about? What do you learn about the author’s thoughts and feelings? Why do you think the author wrote his or her autobiography? And lastly what lessons from the author’s life can you apply to your own life?
Who is autobiography is about? Who wrote it? What part of the authors’ life does the autobiography describe? This autobiography is about a girl named Anne Frank. It is her diary therefore she wrote it by herself. In her diary it talks about how she lived and what she had to do to hide from the German and Nazi soldiers because a World War II was going on. It shows how she is suffering because she was Jewish although she was also German she was still Jewish. Jewish people did not have the privileges to do many things like own a bike because they had to give it away. A law was made stating that all public employees who had even one Jewish grandparent were to be fired from their jobs and when the war went on it became harsher because they started killing Jewish people and treating them really bad putting them in concentration camps. People can tell who was Jewish because Jewish people that were 7 years old or older had to wear a yellow star called the Star of David. Anne and her family hid behind a book case called “Secret Annex” all day at Otto Frank's (Anne’s dads) business at 263 Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. They would live there because Germans and Nazis were hunting people down and they had to hide because if they were found they were put in concentration camp until they suffered or they would have been lucky and be alive. It also tells about how she and her sister died from the concentration camp suffering terrible weather condition.

What important event or experiences does the author write about?
The author writes about her experiences when she was getting hunted down by Germans and then Nazis. She also experienced hiding for approximately 2 years and 1 month living in the Secret Annex and did not get caught until one day a social security officer and many Dutch Security Police members pulled up to 263 Prinsengracht (where Anne hid with 7 others her family and 4 other people) and they went directly to the bookcase that hid the door to the Secret Annex and opened the door. All eight people living in the Secret Annex were arrested and taken to Westerbork to put them into a concentration camp. She and her sister did not survive because of the bad condition and weather. But Anne's father and 7 other lucky people were able to live and survive until the war ended and got out.
What do you learn about the author’s thoughts and feelings? Why do you think the author wrote his or her autobiography?
Anne was really happy she received a diary for her thirteenth birthday because she felt as if she needed something to write her feelings and thoughts in. I learned that the author like to talk about boys she likes and people in her class she did not like. I also learned that she gets frustrated with the adults she lives with in the annex, because she gets yelled at by them. Anne feels like peter (a person that lives with her and her family in the annex) is a person that makes her happier because she had
