Did you know that Otto Frank published Anne Frank’s diary? The diary has been published in 67 different languages. Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929 and lived in Frankfurt, Germany. She was a legend who wrote about her life in the secret annex during World War 2. Her diary became famous after she passed away in a concentration camp because it showed many people just how bad the Holocaust was. It became known as, “The Diary of a Young Girl.” Like the novel, Night, Anne Frank had to endure separation from her family over the Holocaust just like Elie Wiesel. She grew up with her father, Otto, her mother, Edith, and her older sister, Margot. Anne Frank, a teen writer that wrote about her World War 2 experience while hiding from the Nazi army, Anne Frank, was a historical legend who motivated and changed people’s lives.

Nobody knows who betrayed the families and gave the Germans their location, even to this day. The residents of the Secret Annex were shipped off to Camp Westerbork, and arrived by a passenger train on August 8, 1944. They were transferred to the Auschwitz death camp in Poland in the middle of the night on September 3, 1944. Upon arriving at Auschwitz, the men and women were separated. This was the last time that Otto Frank ever saw his wife and daughters. After several months of hard labor, Anne and Margot were transferred during the winter to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany. Their mother was not allowed to go with them, and Edith Frank fell ill and died at Auschwitz shortly thereafter, on January 6, 1945. Anne Frank and Margot both came down with typhus and died within one day of each other sometime in March,
