Overcoming Obstacles

Communication is an obstacle for me, because I’m more of an active listener. I attend to talk to certain individuals and behave differently towards them. Now, I’m overcoming my obstacle in communicating with others around me. First, I’m a quiet individual, who attends to listen to others opinions and thoughts. When people are speaking, I put everything down and listen to them. I don’t want to be rude, by interpreting them and not seem interested on want they have to say. Especially, in class, I listen to my professors to hear instructions and lessons. In my class when I get called on, I attend to take a while to speak in front of the class, to answer the question. It makes me nervous, to stand in front of class, to speak by voice because shaky and get wordy when speaking. But I attend gather my thoughts before, talking, but when speaking my words become jumbled up. Also, when I speak to my professor, I don’t know how to act towards them. I attend to act different towards my professors by speaking little towards them and don’t have a lot a questions for them to answer. I’m quiet towards them because I was taught and told to listen to teachers and talking without their permission was considered rude. So, I don’t speak unless they call my name or want to hear my opinion about the topic. …show more content…
For example, during, a parent/teacher conference my teachers, told my parents, I’m quite in class, they, asked if I talk more at home rather than school. The reason behind, I talk more at home because, with my family and friends, I speak with confidences, honesty, and placating, who attends to please everybody and can’t say ‘no’ to people, especially my family. Also, I am comfortable around my family and friends because they know, how I am. They try to encourage me by talking to my teachers and being comfortable asking
