When I first learned to talk, my tongue was plagued with a speech disorder: stuttering. The minute I begin speaking, I got stuck on random words! It felt like my brain told my mouth to do something but my mouth was in shackles.

A group of boys would tease me every day in my class. I was mocked in school, and became tired of all these awkward situations where my peers treated me differently such as helping me to complete my sentences.

Stammering was a hindrance for me in achieving my goals. My burning desire to become a debater at my school and improve my image made my determination of overcoming stammering stronger.
