How many times have you taken medication to ease body pain? In a recent study found by the U.S. DEA the prescription pain killer Oxycotin was involved in over 464 overdose related death in the last two years. This pain reliever is known as a “chemical cousin” to heroin. It relieves pain twice as long as a generic pain reliever would. These are a few arguments to why people want to choose pharmaceuticals but herbalist notions will be better in the long run. First off, Herbal remedies cannot treat sudden illnesses as modern medication can but are great for other things. For example, “which means that they have not passed any safety, efficiency or human clinical trials” (Roller par. 2). The FDA only requires herbal supplements to follow manufacturing procedures for quality control.
