INTRODUCTION
Is it possible to cure PTSD? PTSD is a mental disorder caused by traumatic experience. There are many different ways to treat PTSD in veterans, but it can be hard to treat because it requires the veterans who are being effected to accept the help.

Explaining PTSD
PTSD stands for Posttraumatic stress disorder. It's not uncommon for a military veterans to develop PTSD, about 11%-20% of veterans have it. “About 11-20 out of every 100 Veterans who served in OIF or OEF have PTSD” (How Common Is PTSD?). This shows that it is very common for military veterans to develop PTSD while fighting in other countries. PTSD can cause depression along with other similar symptoms (Kelly McCarron).

Dave Sharpe is a veteran who fought Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan and is upon his return started to have anxiety and nightmares of the things he had witnessed, but this was all changed when he was talked into getting a dog. Whenever he gets angry his dog will bark at him until he calms done. Sharpe gives all the credit to his dong for improving his PTSD (Thompson). This shows that dogs are one of the options that can be used to treat PTSD. This also means that dogs can decrease the severity of PTSD.
What can PTSD to a person
PTSD has many different symptoms and some can be more severe than others. It can cause people to have anxiety, recurring nightmares, angry outbursts, and can cause people to be easily startled (Thompson). This shows that PTSD can make it very difficult for people to be around others without having problems. It also shows that PTSD can have many different symptoms. It can also make people feel extremely uncomfortable in big crowds , which in return can cause them to have anxiety (Thompson). Being in a bring crowed can be very hard for anyone but it can be even more difficult for people suffering from PTSD.
