While paid time off seems like a good solution for resolving the unscheduled time off requests by the Superior employees, there are also some disadvantages to offering PTO to employees. On the surface, paid time off would eliminate the distinction of vacation time and sick time, but then again it would create an expensive situation for the employer. If the employer offers more paid time off than it did when it separated sick and vacation days, then it could potentially offering an employee a higher compensation package (“PTO Plans Simplify Time Off Tracking”, 2005). The employer would have to consider how many PTO days the employees can get and then take the employee’s hourly pay to determine how much time would be offered to them as paid time
