The Pajama Game is a musical based on the novel 7 ½ cents by Richard Bissell. The original Broadway Production opened on May 13, at the St James Theatre (En.wikipedia.org, 2017). Steam heat is a show tune from the 1954 Broadway musical the pajama game, which was written by Richard Alder and Jerry Ross. The musicals story line is about a labour dispute at a garment factory (Believeperform.com, 2017).

Some of the movements are not sharp like some in the dance. The dance movements that are sharp could include when they are doing one movement but then they will quickly go into the next movement this movement that they do quick is normally a sharp movement the sharp movements include is when they bring their hat of the head in the dance into the air with their arms straight and they are slightly lent backwards, this movement is sharp as the music is also sharp and quick when they do this movements. The emotion in this dance fits well with the story line. They use big emotion in their faces this makes the dance more interesting and it works well with the dance movements they are performing.
This musical has both burlesque and cool jazz style dances which is Bob Fosse’s style of dance. These include the fast and sharp movements such as, making them dramatic. The cool jazz movements at the start of the dance used smooth and relaxed qualities. When the music got faster this than turned into the burlesque style of dance but throughout the dance when the music got softer or the movements where slower it was more relaxed making it cool jazz.
The piece is not typical fosse style, it has some movement that is his style but the other movements are not his style. Most of the dance steps in this piece have less movements on Bob Fosse’s style but has more dance movements which is not his dance style which makes the dance piece unique as it is not typical Bob Fosse. This dance communicates well with the audiences, as it is interesting all the way through the dance movement, there isn’t a part where the audience would get bored as the song and the dance movements are interesting to look at and they are fun and quirky.
