According to Pete Evans, professional chef and judge on Australian Show ‘My Kitchen Rules’, the paleo way is ‘literally the most natural dietary approach on earth, and the one most likely to support optimum physical and emotional health ’ in order to get the most beneficial life. Unlike Pete, many chefs and professional dieticians believe it has a bad effect on your physical well-being. This is able to be tested by researching the benefits and risks of the paleo way for a person fitness.
The paleo way is a diet that focuses on balancing out food groups. The paleo way focuses on taking the food groups that were created by our ancestors and mixing it with more recent food groups of the 21st century. When speaking to cross fit and calisthenics member Jemma Pycroft after she went paleo for the period of three weeks, she found she was ‘a lot more focused and she had a greater determination to do every day things’ . She also noticed she had more energy and her quality of movement improved drastically. Whilst Jemma was on this diet she would go to cross fit at least three times a week, and calisthenics was also three times a week. With all this cardio work, it was important for Jemma to get a good sleep pattern, and when on the diet she noticed that she was able to get a lot more rest and a more satisfying sleep. One of the difficulties she had to face was having a sweet tooth prior to going paleo so she began to crave a lot of unhealthy, sweet food, however, she lost this craving four days into the paleo diet. Overall, Jemma noticed a lot more improvement in her physical fitness and after the two weeks she was able to come out, faster, fitter and stronger then when she went
