a. Chapter 1: Roy Eberhardt and his family moves to Coconut Cove, Florida. He enrolls at Trace Middle School where Dana Matherson starts to bully him for no obvious reason. Roy sees a boy running barefoot outside and becomes curious about the boy. David Delinko is sent to investigate the vandalized construction of the new Mother Paula’s All-American Pancake House. Curly, who has no sympathy for animals tells Delinko that the owls on the site are stupid and ignores Delinko’s question on what will happen to the owls. Roy wants to know more about the running boy.
b. Chapter 2: Roy tries to get off his seat and chase the running boy but Dana strangles and pins him down. He had no choice but to punch Dana in the face which resulted in a broken nose. The chase did not endure because an incoming golf ball hits Roy in the head and knocks him unconscious. Ms. Viola Hennepin suspends Roy from the bus for two weeks and tells him to write an apology letter to Dana. He meets Beatrice Leep (Mullet Fingers sister) and he was told to not bother the running boy ever again.

Chapter 3: Roy goes home and explains what happened on the bus, oddly, his father was somewhat proud of the mischief he caused. He goes to his room and begins writing an apology letter for Dana.
d. Chapter 4: Roy stays at home for the whole weekend to make sure he does not cause trouble. He goes to school and does not find Dana anywhere around. Delinko’s car gets spray painted during the night and the survey stakes are pull out. Roy goes to Dana’s house to apologize, but Dana did not take it in and he and his mother fights for the apology
