Gilgamesh 1. Who was Gilgamesh? Gilgamesh was known as the great King of Uruk. 2. Who was Enkidu? Due to Gilgamesh arrogance, the gods created a wild man named Enkidu in order humble him out. He was a 1/3rd man and 2/3rd beast who becomes Gilgamesh companion. 3. What was the theme of this epic? One notable theme of this epic is the inevitability of death. After the death of Enkidu, Gilgamesh has trigger point where he realizes his own mortality and starts a new quest in search for immortality. However, fails to achieve this goal. 4.
