Parenting Style
Many parents have different parenting styles. They prefer handling their children in their own way. Parents hate to be told how to parent their child. Society categorizes parenting styles in three ways. When it comes to parenting the three styles are authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative. All three of these parenting styles effects children self-esteem, social life, and as they grow into adults. The first parenting style is authoritarian. Authoritarian parenting style is stricter than the other two with its rules and regulations. This parenting style effects children self-esteem, because parents are too strict to show their kids any type of affection, which causes them to lack warmth and intuition. When having low self-esteem it affects the children social life. They become socially withdrawn from the world, angry, resentful and, frustrated with how their parents reject allowing them to express themselves. Misbehavior and rebellion play a part, because of the low self-esteem and the lack of attention their parents show. As the children grow up and become adults, they become more conservative,

Authoritative parenting style is kind, loving, with little discipline. The self-esteem of a child with authoritative parents is high. They have self-worth, well adjusted, and confident due to the warmth and positive relation with their parents. Their self-esteem is high, so therefore their social life reflects on it. They are less influenced by peer pressure, so they are less likely to miss use drugs and alcohol, due to the discipline they get when doing wrong. They have a successful relationship with others and the ability to perform well in school. The long term effect of children with authoritative parents are more likely to become successful as they grow into adult hood, they learn to control impulses in different situations, regulate their behavior, and develops accountability and
