Parents’ and Coaches’ Guide to Dehydration and Other Heat Illnesses in Children

The purpose of this article is to provide information to the Coaches and Parents if a child is suffering from a specific heat illness and how to treat and take care of the child by providing information to help the child recover. The hypothesis the article explains that children sweat less than adults, which makes it harder for them to cool off. It also includes that children suffer from heat related illness because of those who have a low fitness level, who are sick, and have a history of heat related illnesses. The articles methods can be found under the different labeled heat illnesses that provide information how to treat the specific illness the child maybe suffering from. Results from the treatments should help with a full recovery from any heat illness and preparations if a child suffers from a heat stroke. My findings in this article were the simplicity of the article and how everything wasn’t shooting you with words and numbers that the reader wouldn’t understand. The strengths of this article was that it provided a chart that gave information to the coaches and parents on what to do on certain temperatures during the day, another strength of the article was that it gave specific tips to the Parents and Coaches on their part to ensure their child/athletes safety. I personally did not find and weaknesses or flaws in this article, I
