In Shrek the movie created by DreamWorks there was a Happily ever after, and also used satiric techniques to write the script. The satiric techniques that they used were parody, incongruity, exaggeration, and reversal. The reason why this story was a traditions fairy tale is because of these satiric techniques. In the film Shrek the first satiric technique is parody means to imitate something or someone. An Example of a parody satire in Shrek is at the end of the movie they sing a song, a humorous remix of an original song. The way that is makes it a parody is because they are imitating the karaoke Party at the end of the movie. They sing different part of a bunch of songs.
Another example of parody is when they Shrek and Donkey went to Lord Farquaad castle and they get into a tournament of a pro wrestling. The wrestling scene imitates a show called WWE, the show and the scene both fight and use items like chairs and table to fight with. Another technique in the film was incongruity. An example of incongruity is Shrek the charter. The reason Shrek is incongruity is because typically ogres are mean and gruesome and are actually really heartless.
