In conclusion, this novel is bilingualism, a coming of age novel where the main character learns a life lesson, because through a teacher’s charity, Pedi almost losing her life, and joining a gang, Manny realizes what kind of person he wants to be and therefore, grows up. In the charity Mr. Hart sees Manny with raggedy clothes and he is empathetic and ends up giving Manny $20 to help him and what he don’t know is that Manny’s dad takes the 20 and spends it on liquor, In rifle Manny was playing around with his father's rifle and comes very close to shooting his little sister, in the boxing match Manny finds out what is really happening and this grows him up by teaching him things to do and what not to
