Parthenon Temple Parthenon is a temple on the Athenian Acropolis in Greece. Its architectural style is the Doric order and was built in 447 BC when the Athenian empire was at the height of its power. The temple was built to house the cult statue goddess Athena and to glorify the success of Athens after defeating the Persian armies of Darius and Xerxes.
