The Passion Speech was to choose something that I was passionate about. I was required to write an essay about someone or something I am passionate about. The essay had to be 300-650 words long. Additionally, I had to give a 3-5 minute speech that could include a PowerPoint or a slideshow. I was expected to give good eye contact, effective visual aids (if I wanted), a controlled volume, and energy during my speech. I can relate this assignment to others because I’ve given thirty-second speeches before and I already know how to write an essay. This assignment was meant to prepare me for my future because I will continue to present out of school, and then in a professional setting. This allows me to learn what is expected of me to when writing a “report” and give a speech about it. In order to receive an “A” on my essay i had to use variety of evidence, data had to be balanced between research stories, and careful word choice. I had to choose three things to write about her. This was a difficult decision because to me everything about her is perfect. I finally chose to write about her voice, her unique fashion sense, and how she cares about everyone especially her fans. I spent about two weeks completing this assignment. I did most of the work in class, but I did a portion of it at home.
