What would you think of if someone had asked you what a patriotic symbol is? The general answer is The World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and The American Flag, but hey I am different and when I get asked that I picture the Bald Eagles of our nations beautiful wilderness. I am going to inform you on what a proper patriotic symbol may be and why I believe that the Bald Eagle is the perfect patriotic symbol. Many people think that a patriotic symbol can be anything that an American does on any day that Americans are or can be recognized for. Well that is wrong in my opinion because there is a ton of things that we Americans do that is not appropriate or good for others views on us. A true patriotic symbol is something that stands for freedom, power, perseverance, and unity. Those characteristics are the main ones that I believe make a perfect patriotic symbol. The perfect symbol is the Bald Eagle. On the backs of our gold coins, the silver dollar, the half dollar and the quarter, we see an eagle with outspread wings. On the Great Seal of the United States and in many places which are exponents of our nation's authority we see the same emblem. The eagle represents freedom.
